Walnut Bowls
Haboob (photos 1-3): This walnut bowl was turned from a fallen tree on Park Ave. in Swarthmore, PA that Martha Perkins helped us rescue. The plug is made from an unknown piece of wood found in our shop. Approximately 14.5” x 13.5” x 5.5”. This bowl now resides with our buddy Timmy Lynch.
Tourbillion (photos 4-6): This Walnut Bowl was turned from a fallen tree on Park Ave. in Swarthmore, PA. Approximately 12.5” x 12.75” x 3.5”.
Oblique Concavity (photos 7-8): This walnut bowl was turned from wood that was salvaged from a scrap pile in Glen Mills, PA. Approximately 10” x 9.25” x 4.75”.
Walhnutu (Photos 9-11): This striking natural edge walnut bowl was turned from a fallen tree on the 200 block of Park Ave. in Swarthmore, PA. In the process of turning this bowl, it cracked here and there during the drying process. We then filled the major cracks with resin. Approximately 11” diameter with a 9” opening at the top x 5.25-6"” deep.
Spotted Nut (photo 12-13): This Natural Edge Walnut Bowl with plugs was turned from a scrap pile in Glen Mills, PA. The plugs were put in because Conrad started turning it on the lathe the wrong way. Approximately 12” x 11.5” x 2.5"- .5” deep.
Bullseye (photos 14-15): This bowl was turned from a fallen walnut tree on the 400 block of Park Ave. in Swarthmore, PA. Approximately 8.25-8.5” in diameter x 3 3/8” deep.
Derecho on Walnut (photos 16-17): This natural edge bowl was turned from a walnut tree that fell during an actual Derecho on Walnut Lane in Swarthmore, PA in 2020. It was made especially for the owners of the beautiful fallen tree. Approximately 12.25”-12.75” in diameter x 4-7” deep.
Little Breeze (photo 18): This natural edge bowl was turned from a walnut tree that fell during an actual Derecho on Walnut Lane in Swarthmore, PA in 2020. Approximately 5.75” - 6”” in diameter x 2.75” deep.
Cirrus (photo 19): This black walnut bowl was turned from a fallen tree on the 200 block of Park Ave. in Swarthmore, PA. Approximately 8” in diameter x 1.5” deep. Cirrus now lives in West Virginia.
Dusty (photo 20-21): This spalted black walnut bowl was turned from a fallen tree on the 200 block of Park Ave. in Swarthmore, PA. The wood sat in our driveway for several years, allowing fungi to create unique coloration and patterns in the wood. Approximately 7.75” in diameter x 2.75” deep.
Riverbed (photo 22): Approximately 7.25” - 7.75” in diameter x 3.25” deep.
Husky (photo 23): This bowl has a unique striped grain pattern, vertical rays, and its original hairline cracks. Approximately 9-10” in diameter x 5.25- 7.25” deep.
