Siren #205 & 206: Evillene & Glinda
Our Sawdust Sirens are old style acoustic amplifiers for your new phone's speaker. Simply put your phone in and have a listen.
Which witch is which?
Evillene (photos 1-4): s a brass and black “Witch’s Hat” Phonograph horn is approximately 13.5” tall with a 6.75” bell.
Glinda (photos 1, 5-7): is a brass and black “Witch’s Hat” Phonograph horn is approximately 13.25” tall with a 7.25” bell.
Both horns are married to reclaimed spalted floor joist bases from a house on the 300 block of Park Ave. in Swarthmore, PA. These bases have lots of character with their original worm holes and a few stable hairline cracks. The bases are finished with Betty’s Board Butter (beeswax and mineral oil). You may wish to re-oil your base occasionally. If your phone has stereo options you may want to play around with mono and stereo settings to see which you prefer.
