Siren #28: Cranberry Crooner
Siren #28: Cranberry Crooner
$0.00
This Antique Cranberry Red Morning Glory Horn has 8 panels and would have been used with a phonograph. The elbow is marked, PAT. Sept. '03. Interestingly, our research indicates that the first patent for a petalled horn was issued to Horace Sheble (of Hawthorne & Sheble) in 1905, so the patent on this horn is possibly just for the elbow. There were many inventors applying for patents for many different parts in the rush to capitalize on the popularity (and profitability) of phonographs.
The horn is approx. 16.5" long with a bell that measures 17". The base is made of reclaimed walnut.
