Our Sawdust Sirens are old style acoustic amplifiers for your new phone's speaker. Simply put your phone in and have a listen.
Siren #181: Joyce (photos 1, 5-7) This particular antique/vintage car horn is approximately 9” tall with a 6.” bell and married to a reclaimed pine beam from Joyce Perry’s house on Park Ave. in Swarthmore, PA.
Siren #182: TK (photos 1-4) This particular antique/vintage car horn from India is approximately 11” tall with a 3.5” bell with an awesome screen. We’ve actually never seen one like this. The base is made from reclaimed walnut from a fallen tree on Park Ave. in Swarthmore, PA. This wood has lots of character with all its original hairline cracks.
Siren #183: Sinfonia (photos 1, 8-10) This particular antique/vintage car horn is approximately 9” tall with a 6” bell and married to a reclaimed walnut base from a fallen tree on Park Ave. in Swarthmore, PA. This wood has lots of character with all its original hairline cracks, a natural edge, & a knot in the base.
These typse of horn would have been mounted on the side of a car or motorcycle and used to have a reed and rubber ball attached to it. Our bases are finished with Betty’s Board Butter (beeswax and mineral oil). You may wish to re-oil your base occasionally.
