Siren #287: Rose

Siren #287: Rose

$500.00

Our Sawdust Sirens are old style acoustic amplifiers for your new phone's speaker. Simply put your phone in and have a listen.

We rarely have a red horn. This antique Red Morning Glory Phonograph Horn has lots of patina with 8 concave petals with some small scratches and dents. Rose is approximately 18” tall with a 17.5” bell. The whole piece is about 21” tall x 18.5” wide and deep.

This type of horn would have been used with an Edison cylinder phonograph or Columbia graphaphone with a support crane. This particular design of phonograph horn was also sometimes called a Flower Horn, Morning Glory Horn, or Petalled Horn. The base is made from a large piece of reclaimed cherry that was once a fireplace mantle. The base is finished with Betty’s Board Butter (beeswax & mineral oil). You may wish to re-oil your base occasionally. Each siren is signed on the bottom of the base. If your phone has stereo options you may want to play around with mono and stereo settings to see which you prefer.
