Siren #41: Pridham

Siren #41: Pridham
$0.00
Edwin Pridham was a master of morse code by the age of 9. He co-founded the Commercial Wireless Development Company with Peter Jensen, and together they developed the first dynamic coil loudspeaker. Somewhat by chance, the two discovered that if a phonograph horn was attached to their receiver, it made a fairly good loudspeaker.
Our friend Stacy bought this siren for her son. This Magnavox sits on a base of willow oak from our neighbor Doug and purpleheart that we salvaged years ago from the woods in Glen Mills (long story involving heartbreak and divorce and a former husband who spent all of his wife’s money on exotic hardwoods and then left…). Special thanks to Dixon for the connection.
