Yellowwood & Osage Orange Bowls (Bartram's Garden)
Yellowwood & Osage Orange Bowls (Bartram's Garden)
Bartram’s Garden first asked us to create some wooden bowls for their Welcoming Center in Philadelphia, PA in 2018. We were thrilled to create bowls for this awesome organization that does so much for the community. They are one of our beloved stockists. Proceeds from the sales support Bartram’s Garden. You should check them out! https://bartramsgarden.org
These bowls were turned from a fallen branch from the Yellowwood tree at Bartram’s Garden in Philadelphia, PA. The American Yellowwood at Bartram’s Garden was a gift to William Bartram from French botanist Francois André Michaux in 1802. This wood’s yellow color is quite unique. This particular wood is not easy to work with as it is very prone to cracking.
