Siren #188: Auto-Mobile (photos 1, 2-4): This particular antique/vintage car horn is approximately 8” tall with a 6” bell and married to a reclaimed pine beam from a house on the 300 block of Park Ave. in Swarthmore, PA.
Siren #189: Howling (photos 1, 5-6): This particular antique/vintage car horn is approximately 10.5” tall with a 3” bell and married to a reclaimed pine beam from a house on the 300 block of Park Ave. in Swarthmore, PA.
Siren #190: Shout (photos 1, 7-9: This particular antique/vintage car horn is approximately 8.5” tall with a 6” bell and married to a reclaimed pine beam from a house on the 300 block of Park Ave. in Swarthmore, PA.
These types of horns would have been mounted on the side of a car or motorcycle and used to have a reed and rubber ball attached to it. The bases are finished with Betty’s Board Butter (beeswax and mineral oil). You may wish to re-oil your base occasionally. If your phone has stereo options you may want to play around with mono and stereo settings to see which you prefer.
